The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights will hold a briefing on, Friday, November 17, 2023, on racial and ethnic disparities in violent crime victimization in the United States. The Commission’s investigation seeks to examine the federal government’s role in collecting data and addressing racial disparities in violent victimization as an important dimension of the fair administration of justice.
At this public briefing, Commissioners will hear from subject matter experts such as government officials, academics, community advocates, and impacted persons. The Commission will accept written materials from the public for consideration as we prepare our report; submit to victimsofcrime@usccr.gov no later than December 15, 2023.
