The Washington Advisory Committee to the United States Commission on Civil Rights is hosting a series of online public panels to hear testimony regarding the disproportionate impacts of police use of force and whether specific state laws might obstruct the ability of state or local agencies to correct disparities on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, disability or national origin. The Committee will consider civil rights concerns with regard to the impact police use of force has on individuals on the basis of race, LGBTQIA and disability status. Through this factfinding exercise, the Committee will provide recommendations on the legislation and administration of these topics.
